So you thought that Frankfurt didn’t need another festival? Or you thought that the season of festivals finished when the Autumnal rain and clouds arrived today? Well think again…
The Botanical Gardens have announced the first annual Honey Festival. Everyone likes honey, so lots of honey, all in one place, along with free tasting has got to be a good idea.
The festival is going to be hosted at the botanical gardens this Saturday (19.09.2015) in Westend and entry is free. The best way to get there is by UBahn using the Westend station and walk north towards the Palmengarten/Botanischer Garten. Since this is the first time it has been hosted, it is hard to tell how good it will be, but with the demonstrations and focus on local honey production, I imagine they can’t go far wrong. I am certainly going to give it a go!
If you have some spare time after the festival, I can highly recommend a visit to the Palmengarten next door as well. Entrance isn’t free, but it is worth a visit at least once if you are a Frankfurt resident. Its an impressive collection of plants from around the world.
