Has it really been 2 months since I last blogged?! The time has flown by and it is officially the first day of the Summer holidays. There is always something to do in the weekends and evenings. And with the temperatures in the city regularly hitting 30 degrees the good news is that there is plenty of outdoor stuff going on.
One of my favourite parts of Frankfurt is that there is always something happening. The season of street festivals is on and almost every weekend in a different part of the city a street hosts a special festival dedicated to a certain type of food, drink or activity.
Unfortuntately, you are too late for Christopher Street Day and the Holi Festival in Offenbach, sorry about that! But there is always next year :-)! Come the end of summer we’ll be having some of the best and biggest like the Museumsuferfest in exactly a month at the end of August. Make sure you keep Sunday evening free and get a good spot on a bridge to view the firework display. It will be one of the best of the year.
In the meantime though, there are tons of other things to go to. You can keep on top of them with the follow page from the Tourism Office. Next up is the Mainfest starting on the 31st July.
And if that isn’t enough for you, have a look up north to Frankfurt’s biggest satellite town where there are continuous music (mainly classical) related events throughout the summer with Bad Homburger Kultur Sommer
Have a good Summer and don’t forget: no S-Bahn in the city for the next 4 weeks…
